Vancouver Christmas Market

Posted by Bernhard Finkbeiner • Thursday, January 26. 2012 • Category: Events
When Germans get asked about what they miss most in North America, there's a very high chance the answer will be "a Christmas Market"! Glühwein, Bratwurst, roasted almonds, ... all this delicious stuff is now available at the Vancouver Christmas Market! Once a year, from November 24 to December 24, it takes place in Downtown Vancouver in front of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

I have to say, it is very authentic and I am glad that it looks like the Christmas Market is here to stay: In the first year (2010) they had 25 vendors whereas in 2011 they already had 45! It's only January but I am already looking forward to November :-)

Make sure you check it out in 2012!

You may or may not have seen the olympic torch for the olympic and paralympic winter games 2010 in Vancouver. If not, have a look. If you know Vancouver and its - well - relaxed attitude towards marijuana, you can easily figure out why the torch looks like a joint :-D
